The grafting of apples on my Lilac tree has enticed a number of birds including a blackcap which has stayed for a week, and a couple of Redwings. Other birds passing through feeding on what they can find are, Long-tailed Tits, Great Tits, Blue Tits, a Goldcrest and many Blackbirds. During the freezing weather Goldfinches and chaffinches were calling in, also a lone Green Woodpecker made a noisy appearance as did a Great spotted Woodpecker.
