Lanzarote Hmmm!

What a dust bowl,   No Lakes No rivers not many insects,  donc!  not many birds.   Very spectacular,  had a great time but no wildlife.  Had a car and drove round looking at nothing,  saw most at the golf course,  but apparently at it's best in the migrating season.   What I did see I had to fight hard for.    Other than Spanish Sparrows   Berthelots Pipit was the most numerous bird  I saw,  with Cattle Egret and Southern Grey shrikes following.   I did see a number of Barbary Partidges near and around the Golf course at Teguise,  even here there were no water bunkers, only the water from spraying the plants,  lovely place though,  and they allowed me to go where I wanted.       What a shock it was to find they have vineyards here and how hard they must work to keep them growing,  nice wine as well.

Hostile but beautifull
