Friday 1st of Feb 2013 Ingrebourne Valley

Despite the very wet weather there are plenty of birds about the Valley.      A flock of Siskins joined in the fun today and mingled with the Redpolls from time to time.    Another couple of  Woodcock flew up from the Glades catching me out again,  don't know how Les does it,   and two Little Egrets were flying up and down the marsh with the Yellowhammers still occupying the paddock area.

It's a bit clearer now,... think it's the Maestro.

Blackcap in my Garden

Stick a few apples out to attract more birds when the weather gets colder.    Russ Sherriff has also had a male and female Blackcap in his garden.

Meadow pipit.  A walk along the river in the snowstorm found a few surprises.    I also heard Dick had a Woodcock there.     It now is winter!
